Applies to:
Oracle Intelligent Agent - Version 9.2.0.4 and laterHP OpenVMS Alpha
Goal
This article provides more detailed instructions on how to install the patch for <bug:3100395> and how to configure the Intelligent Agent on OpenVMS to use the ORA_OEMAGENT_DIR functionality as added with this patch.
Please note that this patch may only be applied to an Oracle 9.2.0.4 code tree.
The fix is included in the 9.2.0.5 patch set on OpenVMS.
This ORA_OEMAGENT_DIR functionality makes it possible to use the Intelligent Agent on OpenVMS in a cluster environment running an Agent process on each node in the cluster where all Agent processes share the same Oracle 9.2.0.4 code tree.
With this new functionality it is no longer necessary to run each Agent using their own Oracle code tree on OpenVMS.
Because the ORA_OEMAGENT_DIR is designed to be used in cluster environments, this patch also introduces limited RAC support with the Intelligent Agent on OpenVMS.
Please note that this patch contains fixes for the following bugs:
3100395 - Use of the ORA_OEMAGENT_DIR logical does not work on OpenVMS
3264767 - Nmiconf.tcl contains coding issues.
2465214 - The same listener may be discovered more than once by the Agent
