EM 13c: How to Upgrade OPatch to the Latest Version on the Enterprise Manager 13.4 or 13.5 Cloud Control (Doc ID 2728285.1)

Goal

This document lists the procedure that should be followed for upgrading the OPatch on Enterprise Manager (EM) 13.4 or 13.5 Cloud Control to the latest version.

The latest OPatch version available for OEM is 13.9.4.2.14.

IMPORTANT: If OPatch is upgraded to the latest 13.9.4.2.14 version or later, then before applying any Enterprise Manager patch, it is mandatory to upgrade OMSPatcher to the latest release for Enterprise Manager 13.4 and 13.5.

For OEM 13.5: <Patch 19999993>, "OMSPatcher patch of version 13.9.5.14.0 or later for Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13.5.0.0.0". Refer to <Note 2809842.1> for instructions to upgrade Enterprise Manager 13.5 Cloud Control OMSPatcher Utility.

For OEM 13.4: <Patch 19999993>, "OMSPATCHER RELEASE FOR ENTERPRISE MANAGER 13.4.0.0.0". Refer to <Note 2646080.1> for instructions to upgrade Enterprise Manager 13.4 Cloud Control OMSPatcher Utility.

 

NOTE: This document is applicable for OEM 13.4 and 13.5.

DO NOT RENAME the existing OPatch directory in the OMS_HOME or the AGENT_HOME. Doing so will lead to failure in running omspatcher commands.

It is important that the latest Release Update is applied on the OMS as soon as the OPatch is upgraded on the OMS HOME.

DO NOT UPGRADE the OPatch on the OEM 13.4 agents.

Upgrading OPatch on the 13.5 agents is supported, but please ensure that you have a backup of the AGENT_HOME taken before you do the OPatch upgrade.
