Applies To: Oracle Enterprise Manager legacy patching emcli verbs
Purpose: Deprecation of legacy patching emcli verbs for database targets in Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c Cloud Control
Scope: What is being deprecated? Legacy patching emcli verbs for database targets in Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Impact: In a future update release of Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13.5, following legacy emcli verbs for databases and grid infrastructure patching in Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c will be removed:
- switch_database: Switches the Oracle listener to a new Oracle home
- switch_gi: This command switches the Grid Infrastructure Oracle homes to the selected target.

What is the replacement or workaround?
We recommend customers to use fleet maintenance EMCLI or REST APIs for switching databases and GIs to the patched Oracle homes
