Goal

IT Security team is mandating that scp on Linux servers be disabled due to a vulnerability that isn't getting patched.

Need to know if OEM requires scp for anything, from normal process, to patching, to automated jobs.

What is SCP used for?
Secure Copy Protocol (SCP) is a protocol for securely transferring files between a local and a remote host or between two remote hosts. The protocol has certain options that can be displayed on a Linux or UNIX system using the man scp command. The scp command allows you to copy files or directories between systems. scp establishes a connection, copies the files, and then closes the connection.
