Symptoms
When you are attempting to execute the UPDATE_RACDB Command it fails with error on standby DB "Could not verify status of the standby database: Exception occurred while fetching open_mode for the DB instance"
$ emcli db_software_maintenance -performOperation -name="Update RAC DB" -purpose=UPDATE_RACDB -target_type=rac_database -target_list="<TARGET_NAME>" -normal_credential="ORACLE:SYSMAN" -privilege_credential="ROOT:SYSMAN"
Check Passed.
