OracleAS 10.1.3 AS Control Home Page is Very Slow to Appear (Doc ID 549795.1)

Symptoms

The OracleAS 10.1.3 Home Page is very slow to appear.

The OracleAS 10.1.3 oc4jadmin login dialogue appears ok and there are no errors at login. But thereafter the home page can take several minutes to load.

Changes

The issue is most likely to be seen when one of several of these conditions are met:

A) there are a large number of OracleAS instances in a cluster topology and/or a large number of OC4J instances

B) one or more of the OC4J instances is suffering a performance problem / crash or hang. In this respect stopping and restarting the effected OC4J instances may resolve the performance problem.

C) you have a new installation and after providing the oc4jadmin password the browser is stuck . In this case generating a thread dump of the OC4j instance running AS Control shows the following stack for postLogon
