Error "Unable to edit the named site. Reason : SMI unable to save changes" When Updating Webcache Site Definition in AS Console (Doc ID 577577.1)

Symptoms

When managing Oracle AS10g 10.1.2.0.2, DCM managed cluster from Application Server Console, some components cannot be updated correctly:

From AS Console, while changing site definitions in WebCache, "Apply" operation does not succeed and gives following error:

Error :
Unable to edit the named site <hostname>:<port> Reason : SMI unable to save changes
[oracle_home == <oracle_home>, session == oracle.ias.sysmgmt.smi.SMIEntryPoint@cf6dac.


At the at $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/logs/emias.log you see:

Resolution:
Entity not found
Base Exception:
Indexes in DCM Daemon have become out of sync from those of SMI client.
Resolution:
Shutdown and restart the failing SMI clients. If it still does not work, please restart DCM daemon and restart clients.
