Symptoms

LCM migration of Planning application fails with error "Unable to obtain a connection to Hyperion Essbase. If this problem persists, please contact your administrator". This error is displayed in the Migration Status Report of the Shared Services Console.

The problem occurs when the User Preferences artifact is selected under the /Configuration section of LCM artifacts of the Planning application selected via the Shared Services console.
