Symptoms
Encountering error when using OBIEE 11.1.1.7.131017 on an Oracle Exalytics (PS3) server and using a dashboard page prompt based on a presentation variable page prompt (Test_Prompt_2).
The Test_Prompt_2 prompt uses a presentation variable (Variab_1) which is just a list of values that a user may select from. The list of values includes values like "1", "2", "3" and "A".
An OBIEE analysis that selects 3 columns (“Var_1", "Tipo_file" and "User") references the variable. The Var_1 column definition is the value of presentation variable “Variab_1” (set by prompt “Test_prompt_2”).
When the dashboard prompt uses the default value of "7", or any other numeric value, the results are successfully displayed (single row). If an alphabetic character (i.e. "A") is selected in the prompt, an error occurs:
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).
