Unable To Access Financial Reporting (FR) Reports When Smart View Connects On Port 80 (Doc ID 1645159.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 28, 2023

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Your EPM system is configured with 80 as the OHS (Oracle HTTP Server) port instead of the default 19000.  You launch Microsoft Excel and connect via Smart View's Shared Connections to Reporting And Analysis.  The connection to the R&A server is established, but the '+' icon, which should appear to the left of the server name and allow you to drill down into its folders and reports, disappears and no content is shown.  No error appears.

A sample affected URL would be:

https://hfm.hfmserver.com/raframework/browse/listXML  (i.e., no port number is included in the URL, as 80 is being used)

If the same system is reconfigured to use port 19000 for OHS, the '+' icon will properly display the folders and reports in the Smart View panel.

If you connect to Reporting And Analysis using a Smart View Private Connection instead (e.g., http://abc.com:45000/raframework/browse/listXML), the plus icon is present, but attempts to expand it and access the content result in an error: "Cannot connect to the provider. Make sure it is running in the specified host/port.Error (404)".
