HPCM: "Error saving outline" when Deploying the Reporting Database to Hyperion Essbase (Doc ID 1645255.1)

When trying to deploy the reporting database (ASO cube) from HPCM to essbase the following error message comes up in the hpcm.log file:

"Caused by: Error saving outline
... 21 more
Caused by: com.essbase.api.base.EssException: Cannot verify cube outline. Essbase Error(1042017): Network error: The client or server timed out waiting to receive data using TCP/IP. Check network connections. Increase the olap.server.netConnectRetry and/or olap.server.netDelay values in the Restart the server and try again.

Depending on the version installed you might also get another error:

"Caused by: com.essbase.api.base.EssException: Errors found during outline verification.
followed by the name of the memebers that cannot be saved in the outline
