Symptoms

After applying EPM System Patch Set Update (PSU) 11.1.2.3.500 the Hyperion Strategic Finance web service connection fails with the following error message:

FAILED WEB: Web Application Availability of Web application context http://xxxx.local:80/HSFWebServices/HSFWebService.asmx
Error: Bad response codes with both GET and POST methods: 500 and 500
Recommended Action: Check that the application is started.
