How To Change The Big Data Discovery (BDD) JDBC Password (Doc ID 2157043.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 13, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Big Data Discovery - Version 1.2.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

If you have installed Big Data Discovery (BDD) in a non-production environment, then it installs with the Hypersonic (HSQL) database which is an embedded database running inside the JVM. It is useful for getting Studio up and running quickly, but can't be used in a production environment due to performance issues and its inability to support multiple Studio nodes.

If you have installed BDD in a production environment or multiple studio environment using one of the certified databases (MySQL or Oracle), then you may need to change the password from time-to-time in the database.

When you change the schema password in the database, you also need to change the JDBC Connection pool (STUDIO_JDBC_URL) to synchronize them.

This document explains where to change that password.
