Performance of Hybrid Essbase Cube with Smart View Extremely Slow or Times Out (Doc ID 2202683.1)

Symptoms

When running an Ad-hoc query to a BSO database that has been enabled to use Hybrid Aggregation (ASODYNAMICAGGINBSO), the query is taking an extraordinary amount of time to return or Smart View eventually times out.

The BSO Application log shows the following message multiple times:

Hybrid Aggregation Mode enabled.
