OBIEE 12c: How To Remove Or Deinstall The Old OBIEE Oracle_Home After Upgrade From 12.2.1.x to 12.2.1.x (Doc ID 2210226.1)

Goal

You have upgraded your OBIEE 12c by installing a new Oracle Home, then reconfiguring the existing domain following the Upgrade Guide. 

The best practice, per the Installation Guide, About the Domain Home Directory, is to install the DOMAIN_HOME outside of the ORACLE_HOME.  However, if you follow a default installation, then the DOMAIN_HOME, by default is installed inside the ORACLE_HOME


For example:

Old Oracle Home (12.2.1.0): ../middleware/Oracle_Home
New Oracle Home (12.2.1.2) : ../middleware/Oracle_Home_12.2.1.2
Domain home: ../middleware/Oracle_Home/user_projects/domains/bi

This document describes how to deinstall the old Oracle Home without affecting the Domain directories.
