Financial Reporting (FR) Reports Fail with 500 Internal Server Error When Generating PDF Preview (Doc ID 2213376.1)

Symptoms

From Oracle EPM (Enterprise Performance Manager) System Workspace, a user runs a FR Report in Both HTML and PDF preview.

While HTML preview works as expected, the PDF preview doesn't work and the error below is generated:
1. Unable to process request. (OR)
2. The website cannot display the page - HTTP 500

Also, the following lines or similar should be found under the <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\FinancialReporting0\logs\FRLogging.log file:
