Hyperion Financial Management Web Application Servers Change to 'Admin' State After Restart Caused by Error "ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied" (Doc ID 2277681.1)

Last updated on JULY 09, 2024

Applies to:

Hyperion Financial Management - Version 11.1.2.4.000 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After updating the password for Hyperion Financial Management Database Schema User, the HFMWeb0 and HFMWeb1 managed servers are entering an 'Admin' state.  To workaround the behavior, Administrators are accessing the WebLogic Server Administration Console and initiate the Resume option to force the managed servers into a 'Running' state.

The HFMWeb(n).log contains the following errors:

"The returned message is: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied"

<BEA-001155> <The following exception has occurred:
weblogic.common.ResourceException: Unknown Data Source hfm_datasource
at weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.ConnectionPoolManager.shutdownConnectionPool(ConnectionPoolManager.java:622)

<BEA-149205> <Failed to initialize the application 'hfm_datasource' due to error weblogic.application.ModuleException: .
weblogic.application.ModuleException:
at weblogic.jdbc.module.JDBCModule.prepare(JDBCModule.java:327)

It is likely that the login or password is not valid.
It is also possible that something else is invalid in
the configuration or that the database is not available.
at weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.JDBCUtil.parseException(JDBCUtil.java:301)
