OBIEE 12c: Unable to Replace Multibyte Text in Catalog Manager GUI (Doc ID 2323562.1)

Symptoms

Users can search for a simple text string in the catalog and replace it with other text by using 'XML Search and Replace' tool in Catalog Manager.
However, when the user entered multibyte text in 'Old value' in 'XML Search and Replace' then clicked on OK, the string cannot be searched even if the string is defined in the catalog.
Due to this behavior, the multibyte string cannot be replaced.
