Multiple Excel Instances Remain After Closing Smart View Excel (Doc ID 2357830.1)

Symptoms

User with Office 2013 and Smart View 11.1.2.5.710.  opens an Excel file, closes it, opens another, etc.  The Excel processes continue running in the background and do not terminate.  The result is multiple Excel processes which impacts performance. This happens even when opening a new blank workbook.

When Smart View is completely uninstalled, the behavior does not persist.
