Hyperion Foundation Service Crashes Upon Login With An Active Directory (AD) Account

Whenever an AD user attempts to login to Workspace, the login fails and the Foundation Services stops running.
In the FoundationService0.log file (Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\FoundationServices0\logs), "StuckThreadMaxTime" errors can be seen.
The AD user hierarchy had been modified, such that groups of users are nested inside other groups.
