Essbase SQL Interface Error Connecting to SQL Database Server "Error(1021001) Failed to Establish Connection With SQL Database Server" (Doc ID 2474842.1)

Symptoms

Getting below error using SQL Interface from Essbase  When trying to establish a connection with SQL Database Server using SQL Interface (SQL/IF) from the Essbase Administration Services (EAS) Console, getting the error:

Error(1021001) Failed to Establish Connection With SQL Database Server.

The application log has the following errors:

Info(1021013)
ODBC Layer Error: [S1000] ==> [[DataDirect][ODBC SQL Server Wire Protocol driver]Number contains an invalid character: <SQL_Server_server_port>]

Info(1021014)
ODBC Layer Error: Native Error code [2702]

Error(1021001)
Failed to Establish Connection With SQL Database Server.  See log for more information
