Symptoms

Using Smart view with Essbase.  Zoom out from child member on the columns, the row member is deleted.

For example:

1. Using Sample/Basic, set following layout in an Excel sheet:

         Product Market Scenario
         Measures 
Year   105522

2. Set the following options:

• Member Retention: Include Selection
• Comments and Formulas: Preserve Formulas and Comments in ad hoc operations (except pivot and undo)

3.  Zoom in on Measures twice to get the following layout:

          Product Market Scenario
          Profit      Inventory     Ratios     Profit      Inventory    Ratios     Measures
Year   105522   117405        55.26       105522    117405       55.26     105522

4.  Zoom out on the first Profit member.  The Year member is deleted:

Measures
105522
