Not Able To Add DB2 Connection To Essbase Studio (Doc ID 2538991.1)

Symptoms

When adding a new data source for a DB2 database in Essbase Studio, clicking the Test Connection button returns the following error:

"Unable to establish a connection. Ensure that the server is running, the user name and password are correct, and the other data fields match the server's configuration."

Error in Studio server.log:
[SRC_CLASS: com.hyperion.cp.driver.adapters.sql.db2.DB2Connection] [SRC_METHOD: createSQLConnection] Unable to establish connection to DB2 server: [<SERVER>][DB2 JDBC Driver]
The encryptionMethod or authenticationMethod specified is not supported by the DB2 server you are connecting to.

 

Changes

Database connection is encrypted.
