HFM Extended Analytics Data Extract Failed To Extract All The Records With The Error "Oracle TNS-12505: TNS: listener could not resolve SID given in connect descriptor" (Doc ID 2564205.1)

Symptoms

In Hyperion Financial Management(HFM), when extracting Data using Extended Analytics(EA) to RDBMS , the extract process is failed to extract all the records for the Point Of View(POV) selected for the data extract. When verifying the number of records in FACT table, it is missing few records that is expected to be in the table.

This issue is intermittent. This issue is specific to HFM installed on Oracle Exalytics box (Solaris 11).

When this issue occurs, below errors can be seen in the HFM Application logs.

"Oracle TNS-12505: TNS: listener could not resolve SID given in connect descriptor"

"An unknown error occurred in an ODBC object"

"An error occurred in creating an ODBC connection. Failed to create DB connection"
