Last updated on FEBRUARY 09, 2022

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

- On Data Visualization

When you log in to Data Visualization (http://hostname:9502/dv) and upload an Excel file as a data set, "Remaining Quota" reduces even if you cancel the upload operation.

Due to this symptom, users may experience "User exceeded per file or overall quota limit" error, even if they are not using that storage.

This symptom can be reproduced with the following steps:

  1. Log in to Data Visualization, and click "Create > Data Set" buttons.
In this example, User2 will be an account for testing.

  2. Log in to EM (http://hostname:9500/em), and follow the steps below to check the user limits.

2.1 Click "WebLogic Domain > System MBean Browser",
      2.2 Expand "Application Defined MBeans > oracle.dss > Server: bi_server1 > Limits",
      2.3 Click "ssi > Operations > getUserLimits",
2.4 Input username (e.g. user2) in "Value", and click "Invoke" button.

If this is the first time this user tries to upload a file, and administrators didn't change the default quota limits, it should be displayed as following:

  3. Upload a file, and click "Cancel" button instead of "OK" button.

  4. Click "Invoke" button again in the above EM System MBean page to check Remaining Quota, you'll find it's been reduced.
