OBIEE 12c - case sensitivity of USER session variable name (Doc ID 2673580.1)

Symptoms

NQ_SESSION.user/NQ_SESSION.User is working in OBIEE 11g but in OBIEE 12c NQ_SESSION.user/User is not working. 

In OBIEE 12c NQ_SESSION.USER is only working as expected.



Error details from OBIEE 12c if we try to use NQ_SESSION.user/NQ_SESSION.User

Formula syntax is invalid.
[nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. (HY000)
[nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. (HY000)
[nQSError: 23006] The session variable, NQ_SESSION.user, has no value definition. (HY000)
SQL Issued: SELECT VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.user) FROM "Sample Sales"
OK (Ignore Error)

With this lot of reports (over 1000) are failing in OBIEE 12c
