OBIEE 12c-Logs Are Not Written To Audit File While Trying To Increase Logging Through instanceconfig.xml File (Doc ID 2697767.1)

Symptoms

Following Fusion Middleware System Administrator's Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, trying to increase the logging level for file download through the settings in instanceconfig.xml file,however no logs are written into the audit file.

Below entries are added in between the <logging>  </logging> tags

writerClassId="6" dir="{%ORACLE_BIPS_INSTANCE_LOGDIR%}" filePrefix="c_dwn_audit" maxFileSizeKb="512000" filesN="20" fmtName="ODL-Text"/>

<WriterClassGroup name="DwnLog">6</WriterClassGroup>
</WriterClassGroups>

 

<Filters>
<FilterRecord disableCentralControl="true" error="32" incident_error="32" information="1" path="saw.httpserver.request.showrequest" trace="1" warning="32" writerClassGroup="DwnLog"/>
</Filters>
  1. After adding the above parameters in instanceconfig.xml file , Restart Presentation server.
  2. Open analytics->create any report ->download excel or any file
  3. Go to the location
  4. C:\app\Middleware\domains\bi\servers\obips1\logs\c_dwn_audit0.log
  5. There isnt any entries in Obiee 12.2.1 4.

 

This worked well in OBIEE 12.2.1.3
