OBIEE 12.2.1.4: Exporting To Excel Fails With Partial Export Or Error message: "Error generating document" (Doc ID 2734876.1)

Symptoms

After applying October CPU, Reports that have been in place for at least a year have started to throw errors when users try to download to Excel.

The download runs but the file is either empty or half empty and contains the message: "Error generating document:"


 

The obips saw.log file contains the following error:
