Essbase Studio Server Crashes With java.lang.StackOverflowError While Running Drill Through Report At Upper Hierarchy Levels (Doc ID 2763021.1)

Symptoms

When running a drill-through report on cells which includes upper levels a dimension hierarchy, Essbase Studio Server is crashing. Drilling on lower levels in the hierarchy works as expected.

Following error is displayed the apsserver.log file:
