The User - Group Membership Via The BISQLGroupProvider in Oracle Analytics Is Not Working For A Specific Database Group (Doc ID 2848815.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 14, 2022

Applies to:

Business Intelligence Server Enterprise Edition - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The BISQLGroupProvider security provider is configured for mapping / making LDAP users as members of groups that are stored in a database table.

The database groups are visible in the WLS Console (/console) > Security Realms > myrealm > Users and Groups > Groups.

The database groups are visible in the FMW Console (/em) > Security > Application Roles, and the database groups are mapped to / are added as members of application roles.

For one specific database group only (For example: FINANCE), users who are members of the group do not see the related application role (For example: FINANCE) in /analytics > My Account > Application Roles.

These users do see other application roles for other database groups to which they belong / are members.
