Usage Tracking Log Files Are Stored In STORAGE_DIRECTORY Even DIRECT_INSERT Is Set To YES (Doc ID 2931480.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 28, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Analytics Server - Version 2022 (6.4) and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Usage tracking log files will still be stored in STORAGE_DIRECTORY even though the parameter DIRECT_INSERT is set to YES in OAS 6.4.

Log files will be listed in $DOMAIN_HOME/servers/obis1/logs/UTData like:

 [oracle@demo UTData]$ ll
total 5996
-rwxr----- 1 oracle oracle 3636337 Dec 6 08:55 NQAcct.InitBlockTracking.20221125.070339.log
-rwxr----- 1 oracle oracle 54560 Dec 6 07:20 NQAcct.PhysicalQueryTracking.20221125.070339.log
-rwxr----- 1 oracle oracle 159689 Dec 6 07:22 NQAcct.UsageTracking.20221125.070339.log

There should be no files generated in STORAGE_DIRECTORY when DIRECT_INSERT is set to YES because STORAGE_DIRECTORY is valid only if DIRECT_INSERT is set to NO according to STORAGE_DIRECTORY.
