Smart View SSO Using MSAD Federation Services Login Pop-up Shows Up and Disappears with Error "Unable to connect to the provider" (Doc ID 2986145.1)

Symptoms

Essbase 21c is Weblogic Authentication configuration and SSO setup with MSAD Federation Services.
When trying to enter SSO credentials in Smart View, the login screen pops up, disappears and getting error "Unable to connect to the provider".

essbase_server1.out error:
<Error> <HTTP> <BEA-101017> <[ServletContext@562348332[app:ESSBASE module:/essbase path:null spec-version:3.1]] Root cause of ServletException. java.lang.NullPointerException "Unable to connect to the provider"

apsserver.log error:
[essbase_server1] [TRACE] [APP: ESSBASE] [partition-name: DOMAIN] [tenant-name: GLOBAL] [SRC_CLASS: com.hyperion.dsf.server.framework.BaseLogger] [SRC_METHOD: logDebug] APSSessionFilter:SSOLoginForm=FALSE, SessionCreation is set to false
