Essbase Server Hangs,Crashes or Becomes Unresponsive When Creating Security Filters From Hyperion Planning (Doc ID 729406.1)

Symptoms

When creating security filters via Hyperion Planning the Essbase server becomes unresponsive. After selecting to create security filters from Planning, if you choose to connect via the Excel Addin or connect to an Essbase server via Analytic Administration Services, then there is no response from the Essbase server. The only way to bring the Essbase server back online is to kill the Essbase server and application processes (ESSSVR).

Changes

Enabled the use external groups in configuration of external user directory in Shared Services.
