Purpose
What is Kernel Resource Manager?
This document provides Questions and answers on Kernel Resource Manager (KRM) and its related parameters in Server Manager. KRM was first introduced with Tools Release 8.98.2v.
KRM captures data at various levels. They are:
- Instance Level Data
- Kernel Level Data
- User Level Data
- On-Demand Diagnostics (includes CPU / Memory Diagnostics)
- Real Time Diagnostic
KRM helps troubleshoot the following issues:
- Zombie Kernels - memory consumption
- High DB connections
- Hung Kernels
- Long DB queries
- High Memory usage
- Memory leaks and excess memory consumption
- Subsystem leaks
- Runaway kernels
- Check system health
- Deadlock transactions
