Purpose
Overview
The Shop Floor Calendar (P00071) program is used to determine the Work Day Calendar on the manufacturing shop floor and in material scheduling and planning. It is required setup in system codes 30, 31, 33, 34. It is used in distribution programs such as Sales Order entry and blanket Order Release and is used in Service and Warranty programs. From menu G3041 or G3141, select Shop Floor Calendar (SFC) to define the work days, shut down, or holidays by month and year for each manufacturing branch in the system and for all shifts. Shop Floor Calendar records are stored in the F0007 file and uses the V0007A business view. Branch plant 'ALL' is a hard coded value to define a generic branch calendar but is not added to the Business Unit Master table (F0006). The system uses this calendar to determine manufacturing schedules and back scheduling of work orders.
The calendar can also be defined by shift. The system uses these shift calendars for line scheduling and sequencing by shift in repetitive manufacturing. Shift Calendars are used in resource requirements planning but shift calendars are not used for Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP), Master Production Scheduling (MPS), or Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
Setup a Shop Floor Calendar as a prerequisite to Sales Orders, Blanket Order Release. Resource Units, MRP/RRP, Periods of Supply (POS) item entry, Equipment and Service work orders, and SWM cases, as well as the manufacturing work orders and back scheduling.
A Work Center Calendar or Named Calendar can be created for a special use or for use in repetitive manufacturing. Like shift calendars, named calendars are not used for DRP, MPS, or MRP. See Doc ID 631138.1 - E1: 30/31: P00071 Setup and Use of Named Calendars.
