Application Query Security prevents users from running "open find" queries when no search criteria has been entered in at least one of the form filter or QBE fields When users attempt to perform such queries, a pop-up error or warning generic message is displayed alerting the users that the query search has been canceled The error or warning generic message can be customized specific to the form within the application
The Application Query security is set up at the form level by application. Applications include DataBrowser and any Find "enabled" application type (Find/Browse, Headerless Detail, Header/Detail). The security set up can be enabled or disabled for a specific form
By default, Application Query security applies to ALL users (*PUBLIC). For users with a business need to run "open find" queries, there is an option to exclude these users by application from Application Query security
