Purpose

Media Object Attachments enable users to attach useful information to applications, forms and rows, and Object Librarian objects. Media Objects can be of type text, image, OLE, shortcut to EnterpriseOne applications, URL or file. Print messages are user defined messages which provide additional information about items and sales or purchase orders, such as engineering specifications, hours of operation during holiday periods, or special delivery instructions. This document covers some Questions and Answers regarding the Media Objects and Print Messages use in the Distribution applications.

 Question 1: Why is a Media Object (text) not carried from a Requisition to a Purchase Order?

 Creating Print Messages
 Question 1: How can a user create a Print Message Preference (P40073) for All Items and one Customer?
 Question 2: When Inquiring on the Print Message field in the Sales Order Header, you are taken to UDC 40/PM.  When clicking on the Revisions within that UDC, the Attachment for the Print Message is NOT visible to the User.  However, when going into P40162, the Attachments are visible to the User.  Why is the Attachment not available/visible in UDC 40/PM after being entered in P40162?
 Question 3: Field 'Item Flash Message' (IFLA) is present in the Item Branch table F4102, but it is not available for edit in the Item Branch program P41026.  Can this field be updated at the branch level?
 Question 4: Why doesn't the Reprint Version of Invoice Print (R42565) print any newly created print messages that were created today?
 Printing Media Objects
 Question 1: Why is a print message set-up in UDC 40/PM not printing on a pick slip for some customer orders?
 Question 2: How can the system be setup such that the "Item Notes" print on certain reports?
 Question 3: Is there some way to have certain text print when the Sales Orders are printed?
 Question 4: Client has a non stock item, there is a text note attached to the item but they are unable to print the text note of the item on the Purchase Order. Why is this occurring?
 Question 5: On Sales Orders, is there a way to have the print message default from the Ship to address instead of the Sold to address?
 Question 6: Multiple text attachments in the header screen of the JDE applications are not printed in any of the JDE UBE. What setup required in order to print multiple text attachments?.
 Question 7: Is it possible to create a specification for a purchased item on a PDF document and include it on a purchase order line and then print out the PDF content as a part of the PDF.
 Viewing Media Objects
 Question 1: If a Purchase Order (P4310) or a Sales Order (P4210) with a Media Attachment is copied, the paper clip is visible but why can’t it be viewed?
 Question 2: Why doesn’t the paper clip appear when there is an Internal Attachment for an Item Master (P4101)?
 Question 3: Why doesn’t the paper clip show when an attachment is added in the Work with AAIs (P40950) screen?
 Question 4: How can a user view the text entered in Media Object after making any Purchase Order changes?
 Question 5: Why is an unwanted attachment appearing on Purchase Order?
 Question 6: Users are adding some information in Purchase Orders (P4310) header and detail line attachments. Sometimes, some PO attachments are missing. Is there any way to verify if these attachments were deleted by the user?
 Question 7: A purchase order has a header attachment.  Why is the paper clip not displayed in the PO Receipts program P4312?
 Question 8: How do media object attachments work in the Work With Item Locations program P41024?
 Question 9: If a flash message is set up in the Item Master and text is attached using a media object attachment, how can the text be accessed to see what the flash message reads from Sales Order Entry?
 Question 10: When updating a text media object of a sales order that has a related work order (P48013), the system updates text to the work order when a change/update is done on the media object on the sales order side. Can this process continue even if work has been done and no is activity reported on the work order? Will the system update the text of the related work order with sales order changes regardless of the status of the related work order?
 Question 11: How do media object attachments work in the Item Availability program P41202?
 Question 12: When the P4310 Order Revisions processing option is set properly to cause the P4310|W4310J Purchase Order Entry – Media Object form to be presented during an order revision, the text attachment added using this process cannot be viewed in the P43081 - Orders Awaiting Approval form. Why are you unable to view this attachment in P43081?
 Error Messages Associated with Media Objects
 Question 1: When adding a media object to the header of any order (sales or purchase order), then using Media Object Viewer, why is error"Media Object Fetch Image Failed" displayed?
 Migrating from World to E1
 Question 1: After consultants converted our print messages from World A7.3 to E1 Release 9.1, we notice that all the records created in the Print Message Report Defaults (F4017) table came with P instead of R for UBE programs. What conversion programs are used by JD Edwards to generate the Print Message Report Defaults (F4017) table? Shouldn't the conversion program create these records with R instead of P?
 Deleting Media Object Attachments
 Question 1: Is there a Purge Program for mass deletion of Media Object Attachments (F00165) files connected to Print Messages (F4016)?
