(Doc ID 1321633.1)
Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2017
Applies to:JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 8.98 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
This document is primarily concerned with debugging kernel issues for Tools Releases prior to 126.96.36.199. Tools Release 188.8.131.52 introduces several new utilities to aid in troubleshooting kernel issues. While the information in this document will still be correct when applied to releases beyond 184.108.40.206, it provides only minimal coverage of the improved troubleshooting utilities and methodologies that are available in newer Tools Releases.
Customers using Tools Release 220.127.116.11 or newer should also read KRM (Kernel Resource Management) documentation for information on additional troubleshooting techniques that are available for newer Tools Releases as a supplement to the techniques described in the attached document.
As of TR 8.98.4 parameters HandleKrnlSignals and krnlCoreDump (described on page 29 of attached document) become obsolete with the introduction of KRM. Review the following solution for KRM:
- <Document 974763.1> E1: KER: Kernel Resource Management (KRM) for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne
This document provides guidance to self diagnose the Kernel Issues based on pre-KRM methodology.
The following topics are covered:
- Types of Kernel Problems
- Kernel Error Troubleshooting Procedure
- Getting and Using an OS Core File
- OS Tools for Obtaining a call Stack from a running code
