Purpose
This knowledge document is designed to direct you through understanding JDEdwards EnterpriseOne Specification Merge UBE R98700 during a EnterpriseOne Application Release Software Upgrade and troubleshooting Known Issues while running Spec Merge R98700 job.
The knowledge provided here is not meant to be as a substitute for the Upgrade Guide, but as an aid for better understanding and troubleshooting Spec Merge issues during an E1 Software Upgrade. The knowledge included in this document is meant for users that have a basic understanding of the Upgrade process and have read the Upgrade Guides. Refer to <Document 705521.1> - EnterpriseOne Applications Release 9.0 Upgrade Guides, Update; refer to this link here for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Installation and Upgrade Documentation - Release 9.1 (EnterpriseOne Applications Release 9.1 Upgrade Guides), and to this link for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Installation and Upgrade Documentation - Release 9.2 (EnterpriseOne Applications Release 9.2 Upgrade Guides)
After planning the E1 software upgrading using Installation Planner, you should run the plan using Installation Workbench. The logic of this program runs specific workbench programs according to the plan you created. The Specification Table Merge Workbench is one of the Installation Workbench Component. The Spec Merge UBE R98700 runs the batch applications that merge custom modifications into the new specification tables. It then updates the F98405 table to indicate completion, and writes a conversion log record. The Object Librarian and Versions List merges are now a part of the Specification Merge. Also runs the batch applications for the planned merges to update language files. This workbench runs only for users who are adding an alternate language to their installations.
