Purpose
In the Branch Plant Constants (P41001), the 'Write Units to Journal Entries' option indicates whether the system writes units to the General Ledger (F0911). These units are written in the Primary Unit of Measure (UOM) for stock lines (Y inventory interface) and Transaction UOM for non-stock (N, B, D) and account (A, C) line types.
When this functionality is activated, sales transaction units are written at Sales Update (R42800) in the following manner:
If a Unit of Measure is set up on the account in Work with Accounts (P0901), the General Ledger is populated with this Unit of Measure. The units in the transaction UOM are converted to the account UOM and written to F0911 unit field (F0911.GLU).
If the Account has a blank Unit of Measure set up, then F0911 unit of measure is written as blank. The units in the transaction UOM are converted to the item's Primary UOM and written to F0911.GLU.
Note: For additional information on how these units are written for Sales, Purchasing and Inventory transactions, see How F0911.GLU (Units) Gets Written in Distribution (Doc ID 1307156.1).
