Purpose

This document is provided to help customers resolve the error message cannot determine database driver name for driver type "O" which can occur in a variety of different scenarios including installs, running PORTTEST, package deployments and logging in among others.

This error message indicates an issue with an Oracle database or Oracle client.  Where an Oracle version is defined as the issue or solution, you should apply the concept based on your particular Oracle DB version.
