Purpose
Overview
When receiving the items on a purchase order, a putaway request can be created. This putaway request is used to generate suggestions for putaway locations and then store the items in the warehouse.
Picking is the process of removing items from stock and moving them to the shipping dock to be shipped. The picking request is created in response to a sales order (or a parts list, for manufacturing systems). The pick requests are then used to generate suggestions for locations from which to pick items. After creating suggestions, the user must confirm the movement of the items from the chosen picking location to the shipping dock and to update the system’s inventory records. Then, Ship confirm action will indicate that the items are shipped to the customer.
When having multiple pick requests that require warehouse personnel to pick the same items from the same locations on a regular basis, it is possible to consolidate the pick requests by items from multiple picking requests into one bulk picking request. This enables warehouse personnel to do one pick for the same items, increasing the efficiency of the warehouse. Create Bulk Pick Requests UBE (R46200) will consolidate multiple picking requests into a single request that can be processed by the warehouse using the normal picking process.
