E1:UPG: INST: PKG: Unable To Build New Full Package on JDE E1 9.20 Installed With Oracle 12c (Doc ID 2165351.1)

Last updated on MARCH 17, 2022

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

After upgrading to Applications Release 9.20 on an Oracle Platform, it was found during the package build that permissions were removed from the user JDE_ROLE. It is determined that the JDE_ROLE was removed from InstallOracleDatabase.sh in Apps Release 9.20, as it could represent a loophole in security, especially as all the users created by the scripts belonged to that role. The JDE_ROLE to build a package are in place for 9.2 as they were in previous versions but the difference in 9.2 is that the InstallOracleDatabase.sh does not automatically creates permissions for the users created by that script.
