Symptoms

When end-users in the Human Resources Department use the Employee Master (P0801) in order to rehire previously terminated employees, the Search Type in the Address Book application (P01012) is not being updated to the correct value of 'E' which represents employees. Instead, the Search Type field remains populated with an 'X' value which was automatically updated when the employee was terminated is that's the X value represents.

Steps:

  1. Fast path to P0801 and inquire/select an ACTIVE employee.
  2. Enter 10/01/2016 for the termination date for the employee, and change the pay status for the employee to 'T'.
  3. Save changes and enter TE for the Change Reason. Note that the record should now be RED in P0801.
  4. Fast path to Address Book (P01012) and ensure the Search Type changed to an X.
  5. Go back into P0801 and inquire/select the same terminated employees record.
  6. REMOVE the termination date value, and change the Pay Status back to 0.
  7. Save changes and enter 011 (Rehire) for the Change Reason with an effective date AFTER 10/01/2016.
  8. The employee record should no longer be red at this point and the record  should be ACTIVE.
  9. Fast path to P01012 again and inquire over the employee. Note that the  Search Type still = X rather than changing to E.
