E1: 46L: License Plate and U/M Usage Field in P46011 (U/M Definition by Item)
(Doc ID 2231038.1)
Last updated on OCTOBER 10, 2023
Applies to:
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Warehouse Management - Version 8.11 SP1 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
In a license plate environment, the volume of the LPN defaults from the container code attached to the license plate. However, when dealing with a partial pallet, the system should look also at the U/M Usage field in P46011 just like in F4602 environment.
In the LPN environment the request is to be able to make a difference between Open (as a pallet) and Closed (as a box) containers. The suggestion is that it could be done by establishing a connection with U/M Definition by Item (P46011),
same as in F4602 environment, or by somehow adding the Open/Close Container functionality into Container and Carton Codes Program (P46091).
Example:
The unit of measure structure of the item A is defined as:
- 1PL = 3CA ;
- 1CA = 5EA .
System creates a license plate number for the item and unit of measure PL.
The Container Code field is set to 'PAL1' and U/M Usage field is set to 1 - Used Like a Pallet (Open container) in U/M Definition by Item (P46011) for the unit of measure PL.
Enter a purchase order for item A with an ordered quantity of 23 EA and receive it.
System creates 2 License Plates for PL with 3 cases on one (complete pallet), and 2 cases on the other (incomplete pallet).
However, total volume will be the same for both of them, as if they were closed containers.
The request to is to use the U/M Usage field in P46011 in volume calculation for the license plate.
