E1: SVM: OCI: Unable to see Runtime Metrics for Some Managed Instances in an Environment with Firewalls (Doc ID 2588357.1)

Last updated on MAY 26, 2022

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Under the same Server Manager Agent, some instances have Runtime Metrics displayed and some do not.

In the below screenshot, you can see that under the User Activity column, the instances with Runtime Metrics have the number of users written, whilst the ones without Runtime Metrics have None.

This issue is present in an environment with firewall between the Server Manager Console machine and the Server Manager Agent machine where the HTML instances reside.
Note: On Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, the Security List for a subnet acts like a firewall, stopping or allowing communication, depending on the Security List's settings.

The following have already been checked and confirmed to be as recommended by support:

- Server Manager Agent and HTML instances started with the same user;
- From the Server Manager Console the HTML instance can be started and stopped;
- Server Manager Agent and Weblogic using the same JDK.
