Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) Trust Act

In 2019 the state enacted a long-term care insurance benefit for all eligible Washingtonians, funded by worker contributions into a trust fund. The WA Cares Fund is the first of its kind in the United States and is the latest example of the state’s standing as a national leader in long-term care policy. The WA Cares Fund both protects our workers against the economic and social risks of needing long-term care as they age and better positions the state to cope with the fiscal and economic costs of the coming age wave and long-term care challenge. Update As Of March 2023 - Washington Cares Fund Changed the tax ID from 466 (eVprtTaxIDSDIEE) to 481 (eVprtTaxIDSMISC4EE) to be more consistent with like tax types and classify it as a Misc tax type instead of a disability tax, effective 7-1-23. Added opt-out functionality in 4.4.6 and above, effective 7-1-23. Vertex will be handling this delay via a future Monthly Update. JD Edwards did not have any code change requirement for this, therefore, nothing to update. If you have any calculation questions, please contact Vertex directly.
