Symptoms

If Forecast Cons Logic is on, Master Planning Schedule - Multiple Plant (R3483) is allowing EA to go negative for OPC 4 purchased component item with a lead time of 40 days. The demand is coming from the top parent manufactured item as dependent demand, one frozen WO in the past and one frozen in the future. Supply is from OP in the past with two lines, different quantities. MRP is cancelling the OP line with bigger quantity and deferring the line with smaller quantity, leading to negative ending availability.

Steps:

  1. Have a manufactured parent (OPC1) and one purchased component(OPC4). The component is with min (200), multiple(200) quantities, OPV 20 and Leadtime 42. -P41026
  2. Have one frozen WO in the past and one frozen in the future for the parent. - P48013
  3. Have one OP in the past with two lines, different quantities for the component. -P4310
  4. Now, run R3483 Multi Plant MRP over all the items with a planning horizon of 12 weeks.
  5. MRP is cancelling the OP line with bigger quantity and deferring the line with smaller quantity, leading to negative ending availability.
