E1: 42: Carrier/Tax Field Is Updated At Sales Header or Sales Detail For a Kit Parent Causing Components With Hard Committed Secondary Locations Revert To Primary Location And Soft Commit (F4211.SDCOMM = S) (Doc ID 2854409.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 20, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Sales Order Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When you have kits on a Sales Order where the Carrier field is updated for the kit parent, this causes the component locations that were hard committed to secondary locations to revert to the primary location (soft commit). This is true for blank and non-blank locations and items with location/lots. This also occurs if the Carrier field is updated from the Header to the Detail via Sales Order Defaults (P40HDR).

Steps to Duplicate
___________

  1. SO Entry - P4210/P42101, Enter SO with kit parent, save the order.
  2. Pick Slip - R42520 / Pick the SO and note the components are hard committed to primary and secondary locations/ SDCOMM = C.
  3. Inquire on the SO in P4210/P42101, update the Carrier on the kit parent to any valid value, click save
Alternate test: Update the Carrier field on the header and let it default via (P40HDR) Defaults from Header to Detail.
  4. Re-inquire on the SO and note the locations have updated. If the component was committed to a secondary location, it reverts to the primary location and soft commits, F4211.SDCOMM = S.
If the component was hard committed to the primary location originally, the location and hard commitment is not affected, F4211.SDCOMM = C.
