Applications
Warehouse Management
Expanded License Plate Number Commitment Swap Flexibility
JD Edwards Warehouse Management has been enhanced to enable companies using the license plate functionality to increase picking efficiency by allowing commitment swap within a specified date range. Additionally, warehouse operators can configure the system to allow commitment swap between locations. With this enhancement, customers have increased flexibility to perform license plate commitment swap.
Warehouse Management Support for Inventory Costing by Lot/Location
JD Edwards Warehouse Management now supports item costing by lot/location. Users can now capture item cost at the item, branch/plant, or lot/location level throughout the JD Edwards system. The ability to maintain consistent costing eliminates incorrect license plate commitments and release of inventory, removes the need for manual validation and editing of costs, and results in improved process efficiency.
Transportation Management
Transportation Extraction XML Support for Oracle Transportation Management
The JD Edwards Transportation Management Corporation Extraction and Location Extraction reports no longer require an Address Book parent entity when an XML file is generated using data from these reports. The JD Edwards transportation extraction XML file can now be shared seamlessly with Oracle Transport Management.
Manufacturing
New Visual Bill of Material
Engineering and document control personnel can now view bills of material in a modern, user-friendly, adjustable hierarchy chart form with images, easy-to-access item details, and convenient context-based exits to related applications. This visually intuitive and easy-to-implement application replaces the existing Visual Bill of Material and eliminates the need for installation and configuration of a separate server.
New Scheduled Work Order Operations
Production scheduling is more efficient through a new work order scheduling application that displays all scheduled operations along with the available capacity, graphically in a Gantt chart, at every work center required to complete a work order. The daily remaining capacity is displayed in green and daily overcapacity is displayed in red. Dragging and dropping an operation to a new date triggers an update to the work order requested date and initiates a reschedule of the parts list and routing accordingly, with the effects of the changes immediately visible. This visually intuitive and easy-to-implement application replaces the existing Scheduled Work Order Operations application and eliminates the need for installation and configuration of a separate server.
New Work Center Load Review
Production scheduling is more efficient through the Work Center Load Review application which provides graphical views of scheduled operations grouped by work center and displays the remaining available capacity in an intuitive format for each work day in real time. Direct access to operation details and convenient exits to inquiry and update applications facilitate scheduling decisions and adjustments. This visually intuitive and easy-to-implement application replaces the existing Work Center Load Review application and eliminates the need for installation and configuration of a separate server.
Zero Standard Cost Warning
A warning message is displayed when a work order completion is attempted for an item that does not have a standard cost established in the Item Cost Ledger table. This message drives completion of product costing before manufacturing accounting, thereby preventing incorrect variance journal entries from being booked.
Job Cost
Ability to Copy a Job to Multiple Jobs
Project accountants can quickly and easily copy a job’s cost code/cost type and budget to multiple jobs across the organization. This change significantly reduces the time spent in creating accounts and budgets for an organization's jobs and projects.
Financials
Support for Reporting Current vs. Non-Current Portions of Lessee Lease Balances
A new report for lessee lease accountants makes it easier to comply with the FASB 842 requirement to classify the current versus non-current portions of right-of-use assets and lease liabilities in their classified statements of financial position. This new report can optionally create reclassification journal entries to further simplify financial reporting.
Improved Amortization Schedule Calculations for Leases Paid in Advance
Amortization schedules for non-property leases with payment method set to “In Advance” are created in accordance with the current accounting standards. For each period, the system deducts the “in advance” payment from the beginning balance, then calculates interest on the remaining balance. In the last period, the payment made on the first day equals the beginning balance, so after deducting this final payment, the remaining balance is zero.
Human Capital Management
Ability to Default User Data in Employee Org Chart
The Employee Organization Chart includes the ability to default the users’ employee information into the chart as the starting point for navigation. For most employees, especially managers, their own position is a common starting point to navigate the organization.
Localization
Brazil Nota Fiscal XML Update for 2021
The Brazilian tax authority released a new technical note that changes the XML layout for the legal invoice. The new XML layout specifies whether or not PIS and COFINS substitution values comprise the total NF-e value. The JD Edwards system has been updated to incorporate these changes.
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Localization updates and download information are posted on My Oracle Support under EnterpriseOne Globalizations: Localizations, Translations, Certifications / Registrations (Doc ID 752291.1).
